Overview
I am a librarian, writer, and musician. I am passionate about the digitization and preservation of non-textual materials in general, and audio materials in particular. Unlike static media — such as artworks, illustrations, photographs, and manuscripts — musical recordings are time-based media and cannot be preserved for the long term without being digitized.
I hold a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Denver, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I specialize in digital curation and the creation of digital collections. In May 2013, I was inducted into Beta Phi Mu, the international library and information studies honor society.
My passion for the digitization and preservation of audio materials stems from my life as a musician. I am a classically trained pianist and have been studying music for 29 years.
